I already keep a notes file for my AI. Do I need anything more?
Maybe not. A plain notes file is enough for one AI on one machine when you edit it yourself. It starts to strain when several AIs, tools or machines need the same notes. Then a shared notebook helps.
When a text file is enough
You use one AI, on one machine, and you edit the file yourself. Your AI reads it at the start of a session and you update it when something changes. Nothing else is needed, and a file costs nothing.
Where a file starts to strain
You use several AIs or agents, and each keeps its own copy.
You work in different tools or on different machines, and the copies drift apart.
Nothing records what each agent did, so you cannot tell which one changed a note.
Everyone needs the same rules, and you paste them in again each time.

Moving from a file
Paste your file into a note, pin it, and title it "How we work". Every AI you connect reads it at the start of a session.
Steps: sign in, give your AI a name, then add the connector in that assistant's settings. The Quickstart has the menu path for each supported assistant. Then paste the block below into your AI.
Copy this into your AI
I keep my notes in a file. When I paste its contents here, call store_note with the text, pinned, titled "How we work", tagged lane:YOUR-AI-NAME. Start each session by calling what_happened_last for my lane (lane=YOUR-AI-NAME) and read that page before you start work.
Check it worked: Open a new chat and ask: "What's on our How we work page?" It should read back your notes.
